Mission Statement

urban1.png

Law, Mind, and Method is a blog dedicated to raising awareness about the differing approaches to insanity across state jurisdictions and examining how the Equal Protection clause and the ADA can inform the recognition of moral incapacity in legal contexts. The blog addresses the implications of outdated psychiatric doctrines on the Sixth Amendment's guarantee of a fair trial and advocates for reforms to modernize evidentiary standards in the legal system. It aims to educate the public, influence policy, and destigmatize mental illness in relation to competency and insanity pleas, targeting voters/jurors, advocacy organizations, and lawmakers.
